Please advise us for the Academia reservation (museums are closed on Mondays).

Florence/San Gimignano Excursion with RomeInLimo!!(Gracie115) - FULL

This day excursion is designed for those who wish to enjoy the highlights of Florence & Tuscany.

We will be greeted at the Port of Livorno at 8AM, and follow a scenic route in the Tuscan countryside, before arriving at the Renaissance city of Florence. We will explore the Church of Santa Croce, the Duomo and Baptistery, the Ponte Vecchio, the Pitti Palace, and the Piazza of Michelangelo and the Aacdemia, where we will view Michaelangelo’s David, among other priceless pieces of art.

We may choose to have lunch here or continue on through the scenic Tuscan countryside to San Gimignano. We will spend the duration of our afternoon sightseeing throughout this medieval village. before we are returned to the Port of Livorno at the end of the day. For more information about San Gimignano please click the link below.

http://www.italyguides.it/en/tuscany/san-gimignano

We also have the option of a wine tasting and tour on our way to San Gimignano, the cost for that is approximately 30Euros per person. This is optional and I will advise Rome In Limo if we want to do it based on what the participants want, I am fine either way.

There will be 8 people on this tour and we have space for 4 more at this time. The cost is 84 Euro per person, plus the cost of admission to the Academia, lunch and tips. The Academia tickets must be purchased in advance, but it is too early to do so now, I will advise you when they become available for purchase.

If you are interested in being included in this tour please email me

RomeInLimo is a wonderful tour operator in Italy, I’ve hired them for several different trips in Rome & Naples and enjoyed they made every tour special for us. They have glowing reviews on both Trip Advisor and on the Italy boards here on Cruise Critic.

San Gimignano and Volterra (Desertbelle)

Bruce and I have been to Florence before and have seen all the major highlights in the region so we were looking for something different to do. This EXCURSION will pick us up at the pier, take us to San Gimignano and then to Volterra, then return us to the pier. It's 9 hours long and the price per person will depend on how many people are interested in the tour....6-8 people would be perfect, which will make it about 85 Euros each, plus lunch. We can choose to add a trip to a vineyard if anyone is interested. This company is extremely high rated on Cruise Critic and on TripAdvisor and we have used them in the past for excursions with total satisfaction!

Pisa and Countryside Tour- Davis0056

We are planning a tour while in Livorno/Florence. We want to see the tower but then get out to the countryside. We want a tour without a lot of walking since my husband has mobility issues and we aren't interested in shopping or museums. If anyone is interested in joining us, we'd love the company. The more the merrier and cheaper! You can contact us at davis0056 at aol dot com.

We can arrange a car or a van to meet you at the port, take you to Pisa for you to see the tower and then off to the countryside, i can recommend since towns like Greve in Chianti and small village around there with a stop at a private winery for lunch and tasting.

The cost is euro 570 up to 4 people in a sedan
Euro 620 van up to 6 people

I could also recommend SanGimignano instead of the towns but there is the up hill walk which is not comfortable.

------------------------------------
Price includes English speaking driver for all the tours.
Price does not include lunch, gratuities nor entrance fees.
Taxes are included in the rates.

The Best of Tuscany - 7SeasLady

We will pick you up from the Livorno port and take you on a scenic two-hour drive through the Tuscan countryside. You’ll reach Siena, where the beauty and character of this sleepy city will amaze you and make you feel like you have stepped back in time.

Draped on three hills, Siena is an incredibly beautiful city, with quaint streets and a Gothic cathedral called the Duomo, one of the most spectacular in Italy and one of the few to have been built south of the Alps representing true Gothic style. Once you’ve experienced its charm, you’ll understand why Siena has been a popular setting for movie producers, photographers and advertising campaigns. Soak up as much of this enchanting town as you can before heading to San Gimignano.

On the way to San Gimignano, you will stop in Monteriggioni, one of the most classic towns in Italy. This small village was built by the Senesis in the years 1213-1219 on a hillock overlooking the Cassia Road. Here, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a true Tuscan meal (additional cost).

After lunch, you will arrive in San Gimignano, built on a hill that dominates the Elsa Valley, with towers that date back to the 11th century. In San Gimignano, you can admire famous sites like the Duomo, the Collegiate Church, the Palazzo del Popolo, the Palazzo Nuovo del Podestà (which is now the town hall) and the S. Agostino Church. Or simply enjoy your free time by people-watching in a local bar or shopping in the local stores. When you’ve finished exploring San Gimignano, we will begin the journey back to your ship in Livorno.

Time permitting we may visit a local winery of the famous Chianti valley.
