Villefranche/Nice: Nice, St Paul, Monaco and Eze- D&B FULL

We have arranged a private tour in Nice with Ingrid from Kultours, who comes highly recommended. The tour will be for a total of 6 people (the two of us and four more who would like to join up with us). It will be a full day (7-8 hours) visiting Nice, Saint Paul, Monaco and the village of Eze. We figured this is the only way to see all those places in the time available witout stress. The total cost is 550 Euros and would be divided evenly amongst us. If anyone wishes to join in, please email Bronwyn and Dave and we will send you Ingrid's proprosed itinerary for our group.

Update - tour is full!

I contacted Ingrid of Kultur Tours for recommendations for other tour guides to do a tour similar to hers. She recommended Sylive Di Cristo. I contacted her and she was also busy, but recommended Catherine & Cecilia at Travel Tour Prestige. They have excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. They are available and offered the following tour - very similar to the ones offered on this board that are already full. We would really like to do this tour, but we need at least 1 more couple to join us to reduce the per person cost. Please contact me on this board or at jimkipers@gmail.com

Tour description for Nice- Panoramas along the Corniches -Villefranche –Eze- Monaco Monte-Carlo- St Paul (8 hours)

St Paul
Drive along the winding hillside road to the 16th century walled-in village of St Paul de Vence, built as a stronghold to defend the former Franco-Italian border during the reign of King of France Francis I. Saint Paul keeps the memories of many French artists like Yves Montand, Simone Signoret, Marc Chagall... Once inside the beautiful ramparts, you can stroll through the narrow streets offering many artist’s galleries, craftsmen’s studios in picturesque houses.

Monaco the old city which is called the “rock” where are the Cathedral, the Prince’s palace’ square. Depends on the time...maybe a chance to see the changing of the guard (around noon).

The forever Glamour Monte-Carlo : The Gran Casino, the Hotel de Paris, then the harbour, where the Grand Prix Formula 1 motor race is held each year...

The Corniche Roads ...If you have seen Hitchcock’s thriller “To Catch a Thief” then you will remember this route with series of vertiginous viewpoints, goes past some of the prettiest spots of the Côte d’Azur. On a clear day we might enjoy the view from the Plateau Saint-Michel, the view stretches westward to the Bay of Angels in Nice, Cap d'Antibes and the Esterel in the distance more than 25 miles away.

Suspended above the sea, on the Moyenne Corniche between Nice and Monaco is the medieval village of Eze. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding area. Walk in the village through little shops...Magic old stones.

Nice the capital of the Côte d’Azur with its seafront Promenade so called “des Anglais”...How fascinating the blue of the Mediterrean Sea…. the Negresco Palace the soul of “La Belle Epoque” A period of amazing blend of styles, architecture

Tour costs:
We can propose you a private vehicle +driver/guide for the day:
1-4 people 500 euros
5-6 people 520 euros
7-8 people 550 euros
Payment is requested cash in euros at the end of the tour.

I have contacted the tour operator and she indicated she can add a second vehicle. I have 4 people already interested in the second vehicle, but there is room for at least 2, possibly 4 more. If you're interested, please let me know at jimkipers@gmail.com

Thanks!

Nice and Cannes on your Own- Edward50

After researching trains from Villefranche we decidee that we had plenty of time ot travel to Nice and Cannes on our own. It is an inexpensive way to see the area. Tours are always great ut this is a great option for those on a budget or have taken tours in the past.

Our main focus on the trip was to spend some time at the beach in Cannes, have lunch and a bit of shopping. Best decision of our cruise.

Tickets were inexpensive and the train station in Villefranche s an easy walk. There are regional and express trains. If you are just going to Nice, the local buses run every 15 minutes and it is only 20 minutes away. Lots of info on schedules, prices on the web and in tripadvisor. Agents speak English and are very helpful.

We left plenty of time on our return to visit Villefrance.

Another option by train is Monaco.

Riveria Tour by Dream Tours - Relda

I am organizing a tour in Villefranche/Nice - pretty much identical to the one that Lenore (lkrivo) has arranged. The only difference is that I am looking for 4 more people to round out our tour, the total number in the tour being 6. That will make the cost slightly higher than Lenore's at 80€ per person as opposed to 65. I prefer to spend a little more money to have 2 less people and be more comfortable in the van - I hate sitting in the middle :D

Here's the info - if you are interested please email me at lauraadler210 at gmail dot com.

  • Riviera tour by Dream Tours highly rated in Trip Advisor.
  • Port of Villefranche
  • Our vehicles are Mini vans Mercedes 8 seats with air-conditioned .
  • Our tours are extremely Flexible
  • Appointment at the port

We will have a quick trip of Monaco and will take the direction of St Paul de Vence, tour of the medieval village built against the South Alps and famous all around the world for its beauty and also for its artistic influence and its numerous art galleries.

Then we will go to Nice by the Promenade des Anglais.

Tour of the old city and of its famous flowers market where you will have time to have lunch.

Stop at Eze to admire the unbelievable outlook of Villefranche. Free guided tour of perfumes and cosmetics factory (optional)

At Monaco , we will stop at the Rocher, after having seen the outlook of all the principality. Promenade in the old city. Available visit of the Prince’s Palace, the Cathedral or the extraordinary oceanographic museum.

Then, tour of the city, its beach and the Grand Prix circuit. Free time on the Casino’s square where you will be able to do shopping at the « Carré d’Or » test your chance at the famous Casino of Monte Carlo or admire the famous Hotel de Paris.

EZE, MONACO, MONTE CARLO & ST PAUL - Kay&Mike - CANCELLED - Kay&Mike had to cancel their cruise

I'm organizing a tour from our Villefranche port to Eze, Monaco, Monte Carlo and St Paul.
It will be a 6 hour tour and the cost is 64 Euro per person. I'm limiting it to 6 people so we will each be by a window in the van, with no one stuck in the middle! The provider is SunnyDays, highly rated on TripAdvisor, and their website is www.sunnydaysnice.com/en/home.html . This is a custom tour, but similar to ones listed on their website. We'll meet at 10AM so there won't be any concerns with the 9AM arrival and the need to be on that first tender, and we'll be stopping for a quick lunch along the way.

EZE, MONACO, MONTE CARLO & ST PAUL
"Leaving the pier and climbing up to the Moyenne Corniche, which offers fantastic views over the Bay of Villefranche; the perfect photo opportunity!
Travel along the coast to the mediaeval village of Eze, over 400 meter above sea level. Free time to explore this village perched as an eagle's nest, or you can take a free tour of Fragonard's perfume factory.
"Dropping down into Monaco where you'll stroll from the Oceanographic Museum to the old town on 'The Rock'. See the Palais Princier de Monaco palace and catch the changing of the guard just before midday or take in the spectacular views offered on either side.
Pay your respects to Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III in the Neo-Romanesque St. Nicholas Cathedral.
Down again to sea level where a lap of the Monaco Grand Prix track awaits you.
Then on to Monte Carlo to visit the world famous Monte Carlo Casino Square with its opulent Hotel de Paris, Grand Casino, deluxe boutiques and the Cafe de Paris casino.
Return along the breathtaking Basse Corniche.
Then inland to St Paul de Vence, cite of the arts where Chagall and others lived and honed their artistic skills. Admire the history as you breathe in the unique atmosphere of this mediaeval cite."

We have room for 4 more so if you're interested in joining us please email me.

Exclusive Riviera Private Tours - KnitWit80

Within 8 hours and according to your wishes, we could go from Villefranche to many interesting places:

First NICE “Queen of the ”, drive along the harbor surrounded by an Italian style architecture and discover its famous and colorful flower market (stop 45mn/1h) before to reach Saint Paul de Vence.

SAINT PAUL DE VENCE, visit the medieval hilltop village that attracts so many artists and actors. From a bastion above the ramparts, overlooking the village cemetery (where Chagall is buried), you’ll find a superb view of the Maritime Alps and the Esterel mountains to the west of Cannes. Within the village walls are a multitude of art galleries, shops with regional crafts and charming homes on side streets with beautiful flowers abound.

Lunch in a nice place in Saint Paul de Vence or on the Upper road (depending on your arrival time, lunch price not included in the fare).

Followed by MONACO/MONTE-CARLO, stop at the golden square with its world-famous casino, the Hotel de Paris, the gardens and drive on the Formula One Grand-Prix racing route.

And EZE Village, a medieval gem known as the Eagle’s Nest of the Riviera which offers an incredible view of the Côte d’Azur and the Mediterranean sea (€6/pers). If you wish, you can tour a perfume factory to discover the secret of making perfumes and cosmetics with a free guide in your language.

Back to your cruise ship

The price for this 8 hours private tour in 2016 will be still €480 and €65 if there is any extra hour. This fare will include: a driver/guide speaking English (myself), gas, and highway tolls. The vehicle is a brand-new A/C van with leather seats that can accommodate 8 passengers.

We could suggest to you lots of other things to do: museums, gardens, sightseeing of all kinds…and remain at your disposal should you need further information.

from fun&cruise

We did Nice to Eze a few years ago and it was convenient then with Gare Routiere the bus hub. Now the different buses are scattered throughout the area bu t it is still easy to use public transportation. Just as Ikrivo had pointed out there is no direct bus line to Eze from Villefranche. Bus 82 from Nice goes to Eze(le village) and bus 112 from/to Monaco. And bus 100 travels the whole lower Corniche from Nice to Villefranche, Monaco and beyond. It is easy to catch the wrong bus that goes to Eze Sur Mer at the water front as Hulapat had said. The train also stops there for transfer to bus up to Eze Village. Do check out bus schedule so you have ample travelling time.

I have booked this tour with Riviera Together Tours for 4 of us and we are looking for one more couple to join us. Guy gets great reviews on tripadvisor. The van holds 8 but 6 is more comfortable for an all day tour. We will be picked up at the dock in Nice and will see at least three other cities.

Nice: old town built from the 13th century & flower market square

Cannes:
Is the place where dreams come true, the home of one of the most famous
film festivals on the planet thanks to the grandiose setting of the city.
Enjoy a walk along the beautiful Croisette Boulevard with its prestigious
hotels, and its major designers - it is haven of wealth and glamour.

Antibes:
Following the blue coast from Cannes, on the way to the Cap d'Antibes a
small piece of paradise, it's a home to a number of millionaires and it is
there where you can see the famous "Eden Roc" is reputed to be the most
beautiful hotel in the world you will then reach Antibes to see the
biggest marina in Europe, the Billionaire's Quay, the old town, the
Provencal market, and the Pablo Picasso museum (entrance fee?)

St Paul de Vence:
Which has truly been the jewel of the Province since the 11th Century.
Built on its rocky outcrop and surrounded by its ramparts built during the
16th century on the orders of Francois 1st. The beauty of the surrounding
area, quality of life and exceptional light has inspired numerous famous
artist, painters, writers and poets. You will wander through picturesque
narrows streets which are lined with more than 40 art galleries, souvenir
shops as well a brilliant view of the Alps it comes as no surprise the
town is a meeting point for artists from all over the world.

If we have enough time we maybe can go to Grasse or Gourdon !

The price for an 8 hours private tour is 504€.

This fare includes a luxury mini-van 8 seats with an English speaking
driver guide, gas, highway tolls, taxes, full insurance and free soft
drinks.

Please contact me with your full name and cabin # if interested or you can email me at ccastorani@gmail.com
thanks, Cathy
